Yanam

Yanam is a small town on the Godavari delta in south-east India, enclosed by Andhra Pradesh. A French trading post from the 1720s, it remained part of French India until 1954, when it was transferred de facto to India, a transfer made legal in 1962. It is now a district of the Union Territory of Puducherry.
