Yeke people
The Yeke are a people of the Katanga region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, descended from the Nyamwezi traders and followers who came from western Tanzania with Msiri in the mid-19th century. They formed the ruling core of Msiri's kingdom at Bunkeya, and after his death in 1891 their chiefs became subordinate rulers under the Congo Free State and the Belgian Congo.
