Yejju dynasty
The Yejju dynasty was an Oromo family of regional lords from Yejju in north-central Ethiopia who dominated the Ethiopian court during the Zemene Mesafint. Accounts of the Ethiopian Empire note that, while many emperors occupied the throne, real governance passed to Ras regents of the Yejju dynasty. Their dominance ended with the rise of Tewodros II in 1855.
