Zhengdong Province

1280–1356 · 13th century · Also known as Branch Secretariat for the Eastern Campaign

Zhengdong Province, the Branch Secretariat for the Eastern Campaign, was an office set up by the Yuan dynasty in Goryeo in 1280 to prepare the invasion of Japan. It was kept after the campaign as an instrument of Yuan supervision, with the Goryeo king nominally at its head. King Gongmin dismantled its apparatus when he broke with the Yuan in 1356.
