A Coruña

Also known as La Coruña, Corunna

A Coruña is a port city in Galicia, north-western Spain, on the Atlantic coast. Its Roman lighthouse, the Tower of Hercules, still in use, is a World Heritage Site. The Spanish Armada regrouped and set sail from the port in 1588, and in 1809 a British army under Sir John Moore fought the Battle of Corunna there before its evacuation.
