Person
Acfred, Duke of Aquitaine
Acfred was duke of Aquitaine and count of Auvergne from 926 until his death in 927, succeeding his brother William II. A nephew of William the Pious through his mother, he was the last ruler of the Auvergnat line of dukes. His early death without heirs left the ducal title contested for decades between the counts of Toulouse and the counts of Poitou.
