Adonijah

Adonijah was the fourth son of King David according to the Hebrew Bible. As the eldest surviving son, he claimed the throne in David's old age with the support of the commander Joab and the priest Abiathar, but the prophet Nathan and Bathsheba persuaded David to name Solomon king instead, and Solomon later had Adonijah put to death.
