Battle of Mount Gilboa

The Battle of Mount Gilboa was the battle in which, according to the Hebrew Bible, the Philistines defeated the Israelites under King Saul on Mount Gilboa, above the Jezreel Valley. Saul's sons, among them Jonathan, were killed and Saul took his own life; the defeat led to the division of the kingdom between David in Judah and Saul's son Ish-bosheth.
