Ish-bosheth

Also known as Ishbaal

Ish-bosheth was a son of Saul who, according to the Hebrew Bible, became king of Israel after his father's death at Mount Gilboa, ruling the northern tribes from Mahanaim with the support of the commander Abner while David ruled Judah from Hebron. After Abner went over to David, Ish-bosheth was murdered by two of his officers, leaving David king of all Israel.
