Isfendiyar Bey
Isfendiyar Bey was a ruler of the Candarid beylik of Kastamonu and Sinop in northern Anatolia, who died in 1440. After the Ottoman sultan Bayezid I took Kastamonu, he regained his family's lands with Timur's backing following the Battle of Ankara in 1402. He then survived by alliances and cessions of territory, sometimes fighting the Ottomans, and the dynasty is also called the Isfendiyarids after him.
