Joab

Joab was the nephew of King David and the commander of his army according to the Hebrew Bible. He led David's campaigns against the Ammonites and Arameans, killed the rival commander Abner and the rebel prince Absalom, and put down the revolt of Sheba son of Bichri, but he backed Adonijah for the succession and was executed on Solomon's orders.
