Akha
The Akha are a Tibeto-Burman hill people living in the mountains of southern Yunnan in China, eastern Myanmar, northern Laos, northern Thailand and Vietnam. Traditionally upland farmers living in villages marked by ceremonial gates and swings, they keep long oral genealogies and follow the 'Akha way' of ancestral custom. In China they are officially classified as part of the Hani nationality.
