Al Bu Falasah

The Al Bu Falasah are a section of the Bani Yas tribal confederation of the southern Gulf coast. In 1833 about 800 of them broke away from Abu Dhabi and settled at Dubai Creek under Maktoum bin Butti and Obaid bin Said, founding the Sheikhdom of Dubai. Their leading family, the Al Maktoum, has ruled Dubai ever since.
