Alexander the Good

d. 1432 · 15th century · Also known as Alexander I of Moldavia

Alexander the Good was prince of Moldavia from 1400 to 1432. His long, mostly peaceful reign consolidated the young principality: he organised its administration, obtained a metropolitan see recognised by Constantinople, promoted trade through Suceava and Cetatea Albă, and allied with Poland, sending troops to Grunwald in 1410.
