Amelia, Umbria
Amelia, the ancient Ameria, is a hill town in southern Umbria, Italy. In antiquity it was one of the leading Umbrian communities and later a Roman municipium, and its massive polygonal walls, built of huge fitted stone blocks, still survive. Cicero defended Sextus Roscius of Ameria in a famous murder trial in 80 BCE.
