r. c. 936–939 · 10th century · Also known as Baddega

Amoghavarsha III, also called Baddega, was Rashtrakuta emperor of the Deccan from about 936 to 939. A son of Indra III and uncle of Govinda IV, he was placed on the throne by nobles and feudatories, backed by the Chalukyas of Vemulavada, after Govinda IV's unpopular reign ended in revolt. A ruler of religious temperament, he left much of the government to his son and successor Krishna III.
