Vemulawada

Also known as Vemulavada

Vemulawada is a temple town in Telangana, India, near Karimnagar. In the 8th to 10th centuries it was the capital of the Vemulavada Chalukyas, feudatories of the Rashtrakuta dynasty, who patronised the poet Pampa, Jain scholars and Shaiva temples there. Its Raja Rajeshwara temple remains a major pilgrimage centre.
