Anabasis
The Anabasis is a work by the Greek writer Xenophon describing the expedition of the Ten Thousand, Greek mercenaries who fought for Cyrus the Younger against his brother Artaxerxes II around 401 BCE. After Cyrus's death the Greeks marched back through the Persian interior to the Black Sea. Their survival was later taken to suggest military weakness in the Achaemenid Empire.
