Cyrus the Younger

Cyrus the Younger was a Persian prince of the late fifth century BCE, a son of Darius II. In 401 BCE he hired Greek mercenaries in a bid to seize the throne from his brother Artaxerxes II, but was killed at the Battle of Cunaxa. Xenophon's account of the Greeks' retreat, the Anabasis, exposed the weaknesses of the Achaemenid Empire.
