Anapa
Anapa is a resort town on the Black Sea coast of Krasnodar Krai in southern Russia, near the Taman Peninsula. Near the site of the ancient Greek colony of Gorgippia, it became an Ottoman fortress in the 1780s and a key base for trade and contacts with the Circassians. Russia captured it several times and kept it under the Treaty of Adrianople in 1829.
