Andarax
The Andarax is a river in the province of Almería in south-eastern Spain, flowing from the Sierra Nevada and the Alpujarras to the Mediterranean at the city of Almería. Its lower valley, irrigated since Roman and Islamic times, was the site of Pechina (Bajjana), a leading port town of al-Andalus in the 9th and 10th centuries. The river is dry for much of the year.
