Pechina
Pechina, called Bajjana in Arabic, is a town in the province of Almería in Andalusia, Spain, in the lower Andarax valley. From the late 9th century it was the base of a self-governing community of Andalusi seafarers trading with North Africa, and it became one of the main ports of al-Andalus. It declined after Abd al-Rahman III raised nearby Almería to the status of a city in 955.
