Andrés Manuel López Obrador

Andrés Manuel López Obrador is a Mexican politician who was president from 2018 to 2024. A former head of government of Mexico City and twice a losing presidential candidate, he founded the Morena party and won a landslide in 2018 on promises to fight corruption and poverty. His government expanded social programmes and the state's role in energy, and his ally Claudia Sheinbaum succeeded him.
