Annaly

Also known as Anghaile

Annaly was a medieval Irish lordship in the northern part of Tethba, roughly the area of modern County Longford. From the 11th and 12th centuries it was ruled by the Uí Fergail, later known as the O'Farrells, who kept it largely free of the Anglo-Norman lords of Meath. It was made into County Longford in the late 16th century.
