County Longford
County Longford is a county in the Irish midlands, in the province of Leinster, with its county town at Longford. It roughly corresponds to the medieval lordship of Annaly, ruled by the O'Farrells, and was created as a county in the late 16th century. Its land is low-lying, with lakes and bogs along the River Shannon on its western border.
