Annapolis Royal

Annapolis Royal is a town on the Annapolis Basin in western Nova Scotia, Canada. As Port-Royal it was the capital of French Acadia, and after a New England expedition captured it in 1710 it was renamed after Queen Anne. It served as the capital of British Nova Scotia until Halifax was founded in 1749, and its Fort Anne is now a national historic site.
