Anti-Atlas

The Anti-Atlas is a mountain range in southern Morocco, running north-east from the Atlantic coast towards the Jebel Saghro, south of the High Atlas and the Sous valley. Its dry, terraced valleys are home to Berber villages and fortified granaries. In the 17th century its western part, the Tazeroualt, was the base of a sharifian state that controlled trade with the Sahara.
