Sous

Also known as Souss

The Sous is a region of south-western Morocco, the fertile valley of the Sous river between the High Atlas and the Anti-Atlas, with Agadir and Taroudant as its main towns. Long a land of Amazigh tribes and religious lodges, it was the base from which the Saadi dynasty rose in the early 16th century, and later of the marabout state of Tazeroualt.
