Arabshahid dynasty
The Arabshahids were a Chinggisid dynasty descended from Shiban that ruled Khwarazm, the Khanate of Khiva, from 1511. Founded by the brothers Ilbars and Balbars, it ruled first from Urgench and from the 17th century from Khiva. Its best-known member was the 17th-century khan and historian Abu al-Ghazi Bahadur. The line weakened in the 18th century, when tribal leaders installed puppet khans, until the Qungrat dynasty took the throne in 1804.
