Armistice of Cherasco
The Armistice of Cherasco was signed on 28 April 1796 between Napoleon Bonaparte and the Kingdom of Sardinia of Victor Amadeus III, after a two-week French campaign in Piedmont. It took the kingdom out of the War of the First Coalition and handed key fortresses and free passage to the French. The Treaty of Paris that followed in May ceded Savoy and Nice to France.
