Augustus III

Augustus III was Elector of Saxony and King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania from 1733 to 1763. He owed his election to Russian and Austrian intervention in the War of the Polish Succession. His largely absent reign was marked by political paralysis in the Sejm, part of the decline of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
