Kingdom of Prussia

Also known as Prussia, Prussian

The Kingdom of Prussia was a German state ruled by the Hohenzollern dynasty from 1701, known for its efficient bureaucracy and powerful army. It gained territory from Sweden and in the partitions of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and rivalled Austria within the Holy Roman Empire. After victories over Austria and France, Prussia led the unification that founded the German Empire in 1871.
