Bagram
Bagram is a town north of Kabul in Parwan province, Afghanistan, near the meeting of the Ghorband and Panjshir rivers. It lies near the site of ancient Kapisa, where excavations in the 1930s uncovered the Begram hoard of Indian ivories, Roman glass and Chinese lacquer. In modern times it was the site of a major air base, used by the Soviet army in the 1980s and by United States forces from 2001 to 2021.
