Bambandyanalo
Bambandyanalo, known to archaeologists as K2, is an archaeological site in the Limpopo valley of northern South Africa, near Mapungubwe Hill. Occupied from around 1000 to 1220 CE, it was a large settlement whose people grew rich from cattle and the trade in ivory and gold with the Indian Ocean coast. Its leaders later moved to Mapungubwe, and the site is part of the Mapungubwe World Heritage landscape.
