Gla

13th century BCE · 13th century BCE · Also known as Glas

Gla is a Mycenaean fortress on a rocky outcrop that was once an island in Lake Copais in Boeotia, Greece. Built in the 13th century BCE, its walls run nearly three kilometres, enclosing far more ground than any other Mycenaean citadel. It is linked with the drainage of the Copais basin and was abandoned around 1200 BCE.
