Battle of Ganter

1222 · 13th century

The Battle of Ganter was fought in 1222 in East Java between Ken Arok, ruler of Tumapel, and Kertajaya, king of Kediri. Ken Arok's victory ended the Kediri Kingdom and made him founder of the kingdom of Singhasari under the name Rajasa. The battle is known mainly from the Pararaton and the Nagarakretagama.
