Battle of Marsaglia

1693 · 17th century · Part of the Nine Years' War

The Battle of Marsaglia was fought on 4 October 1693 in Piedmont, south-west of Turin, during the Nine Years' War. A French army under Marshal Catinat defeated the allied army of Victor Amadeus II of Savoy with Spanish and imperial troops. The defeat left Piedmont open to plunder and contributed to Savoy's separate peace with France in 1696.
