Battle of Rakshasbhuvan
The Battle of Rakshasbhuvan was fought in August 1763 on the Godavari between the Marathas under the young Peshwa Madhavrao I and the army of Nizam Ali Khan of Hyderabad. The Nizam had tried to exploit Maratha losses at Panipat in 1761, but his defeat restored Maratha power in the Deccan.
