Benelux
Benelux is the union of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. It began as a customs union agreed by their governments in exile in London in 1944 and in force from 1948, and became an economic union by a treaty of 1958 that took effect in 1960. Its close cooperation served as a model for the European Communities, which all three countries co-founded.
