Bentheim Castle
Bentheim Castle is a hilltop castle in Bad Bentheim, Lower Saxony, Germany, built on a sandstone ridge near the Dutch border. First recorded in the late 11th or early 12th century, it was the seat of the counts of Bentheim and is one of the largest castles in north-west Germany. It still belongs to the princely family of Bentheim and Steinfurt.
