Bermuda
Bermuda is a British Overseas Territory consisting of a group of small islands in the North Atlantic, about 1,000 kilometres east of North Carolina. It was settled by the English after the wreck of the Sea Venture in 1609 and became one of England's oldest colonies, run by the Somers Isles Company until 1684. It was long a Royal Navy base and is now a centre of international finance and insurance.
