Bohras
The Bohras are a Muslim community of western India, chiefly Gujarat, most of whom follow the Musta'li Tayyibi branch of Isma'ili Shi'ism, the largest group being the Dawoodi Bohras. Converted by missionaries sent from Yemen from the 11th century, they took over the leadership of the Tayyibi mission when it moved to India in the 16th century. Largely merchants, they now live across South Asia, East Africa and beyond.
