Jibla

Also known as Dhu Jibla

Jibla, also called Dhu Jibla, is a town in the highlands of Yemen, south of Ibb. Around 1087 Queen Arwa al-Sulayhi made it the capital of the Sulayhid dynasty, building a palace and the great mosque that holds her tomb. After her death it passed to the Zurayids of Aden and later to the Ayyubids.
