Taiz
Taiz is a city in the southern highlands of Yemen, at the foot of Mount Sabir. The Ayyubids made it a base in the late twelfth century, and it became the capital of the Rasulid dynasty, whose mosques and madrasas, such as the Ashrafiyya, still stand. In the twentieth century it was the residence of Imam Ahmad of the Mutawakkilite Kingdom, and it is now one of Yemen's largest cities.
