Bokmål
Bokmål is the more widely used of the two official written standards of Norwegian, alongside Nynorsk. It descends from the Danish written language used in Norway during the union with Denmark, adapted to Norwegian speech through spelling reforms from 1907, and received its present name in 1929. It is used by most Norwegians.
