Bergen
Bergen is a port city on the west coast of Norway and the country's second-largest city. Founded in the 11th century, traditionally by King Olaf Kyrre, it was medieval Norway's chief town and for a time its royal capital. From the 14th century the Hanseatic League kept a major Kontor at Bryggen on its harbour, controlling the export of stockfish from northern Norway.
