Bergedorf

Bergedorf is a borough in the south-east of Hamburg, Germany. In 1420 Hamburg and Lübeck took the town and its castle from the dukes of Saxe-Lauenburg and ruled it jointly, together with the Vierlande, for more than four centuries. In 1868 Hamburg bought out Lübeck's share, and Bergedorf has been part of Hamburg ever since.
