Bombard
A bombard is a large early cannon, usually a muzzle-loader firing heavy stone balls, used mainly in sieges in the fourteenth to sixteenth centuries. The Ottoman Empire employed huge bombards, notably at the siege of Constantinople in 1453. Their ability to batter down stone walls made them a key element of Ottoman siege warfare.
