Bon
Bon is a Tibetan religious tradition that traces its teachings to the founder Tonpa Shenrab Miwoche and to the ancient kingdom of Zhangzhung in western Tibet. Early Tibetan sources use the name for priests who performed royal funerary and other rites; the organised Bon religion that took shape from the eleventh century shares much with Tibetan Buddhism. It is practised today in Tibet, Nepal and India.
