Tonpa Shenrab Miwoche

Also known as Shenrab Miwo

Tonpa Shenrab Miwoche is the legendary founder of the Bon religion of Tibet. Bon tradition holds that he lived many thousands of years ago in the land of Olmo Lungring, west of Tibet, and that his teachings spread through the kingdom of Zhangzhung; his life is told in long scriptures of later centuries. Scholars treat him as a figure of religious tradition rather than of history.
